HISTORICAL JOURNAL OF MASSACHUSETTS: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONSHISTORICAL JOURNAL OF MASSACHUSETTS: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS The Historical Journal of Massachusetts (HJM) is currently seeking articles for our upcoming 75th Anniversary issue (Spring 2011) about any aspect of Massachusetts history. We are also seeking book reviewers. Each 180 pp. issue includes 6-8 major articles, a “Teaching Resources Section” designed for 6th-12th grade teachers, a “Photo Essay,” an “Editor’s Choice” special selection, and 10-12 book reviews. We cover all topics and aspects of the Commonwealth’s past —from its Native American heritage through its colonial and revolutionary roots to the present. We strive to include all fields of history, including political, social, cultural, economic, labor, and immigration. We seek to highlight the unique histories of different groups and populations, including women’s history; ethnic and religious studies; and the diverse experiences of the state’s many minority groups. We also include studies relating to Massachusetts culture, literature, arts, and humanities. We welcome articles from novice historians as well as established scholars. HJM is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by Westfield State College. As the only biennial journal devoted exclusively to the history and culture of Massachusetts, HJM has filled an important role since its founding in 1972. Subscriptions are only $12 annually.
